Using Reports for Fundraising
How to use the review, Q&A prep, rehearsal, and exports together when you raise.
Overview
Radley's outputs are designed to work together across a raise, whatever your business type. A quick map of what's what:
- Downloads (Build It Yourself) - Financial Model (.xlsx), Investor Deck (.pptx), Investor Memo (.pdf)
- In-app tools - the Review tab, Q&A Prep, Investor Memo tab, Rehearsal, Ask AI, and the suggested raise plan
- Free tier - the planning summary PDF and the defensibility score get you through early planning conversations
The Fundraising Journey
Stage 1: Preparation
- Upgrade to an Investment model and clear the Review tab - criticals first, then the "defaults a VC will challenge" list
- Take the suggested raise plan seriously: it sizes your round from the model's actual cash need and milestones, which is exactly how a fund will sanity-check it
- Study Q&A Prep and run Rehearsal until the numbers are in your head
Stage 2: Initial Outreach
- Lead with your pitch deck (with Radley's finance slides merged in)
- Keep the Investor Memo ready as the follow-up send - it answers "walk me through the model" without a meeting
Stage 3: Meetings
- Demo from the in-app grid (Core view), switching scenarios live when asked about downside
- When a partner drills into a number, the formula explorer mindset applies: know which assumption drives it and where that assumption came from
Stage 4: Due Diligence
- Send the Financial Model (.xlsx) - it's formula-linked, so analysts can trace every output to Model Inputs
- The Benchmarks sheet pre-empts the "how does this compare?" spreadsheet the associate was going to build - with verdicts already computed
- Keep model edits versioned in Radley and re-export, so there's always exactly one current file
Stage 5: Post-Term-Sheet
- Update the model with the actual round terms and re-share
- The same model becomes your board reporting baseline - and when Xero actuals ship, your forecast-vs-actuals loop

| Your own prep | Q&A Prep + Rehearsal |
Honest Numbers Win
Radley's philosophy shows up throughout these documents: defaults are labelled, deviations from benchmark are flagged, and extreme figures render as n/m rather than pretending precision. Lean into that - investors have seen a thousand hockey sticks, and a model that knows its own weak points is rarer and more fundable than one that hides them.
