You don't need to pay anything to start. Every new account begins on the free planning tier: you can run the full planning wizard for any of the five business types, see your five-year plan in the browser, and download a one-page planning summary PDF.

You upgrade to Build It Yourself when you want the investor-grade model - the paid features are clearly padlocked in the app, so you always know where the boundary is.

Availability note: Built For You and Model Teardown are rolled out gradually - their buttons may appear disabled while rollout is in progress. Build It Yourself is the standard path for everyone.

Where You'll Meet the Upgrade

You don't pick a plan up front. As you use the free tier, Pro-only features appear with a padlock, and clicking one shows the upgrade prompt:

• Clicking a padlocked tab (Actuals, Q&A Prep, Investor Memo, Rehearsal) on a free model
• Clicking Continue to investment model on your planning preview
• Trying to download the Excel workbook (the one-page PDF summary stays free)
• Opening the locked part of the suggested raise card

Checkout is handled securely by Stripe, and your subscription is managed from Settings > Billing afterwards - see Billing & Subscription.

Which Should You Choose?

• Just planning / validating direction? Stay free. It never expires.
• Raising in the next 6-12 months? Build It Yourself - the investor pack (workbook, deck, memo, Q&A) is built from the model you already started for free.
• No time to build it yourself (SaaS)? Consider Built For You.
• Already have a model? A Model Teardown gets you professional QA without rebuilding.
