Rehearsal Mode
Practice defending your numbers against investor-style questions.
What is Rehearsal Mode?
Rehearsal (Investment models) simulates an investor testing whether you can defend your own numbers. Radley asks you a series of questions drawn from your actual model, you answer from memory, and your answers are scored against what the engine computed. It's the Rehearsal tab inside your model.
Why Rehearsal Matters
In a real meeting you won't have your spreadsheet open. Investors read fluency as competence:
- Fumbling your own churn rate undermines an otherwise great model
- Confident, accurate recall of the key numbers builds trust fast
- The gap between "it's in the model" and "I know it cold" is exactly what rehearsal measures
How a Session Works
- Open the Rehearsal tab and click Start rehearsal
- Radley asks questions drawn from your model - metrics, drivers, and the relationships between them
- Answer from memory
- Your answers are scored against the engine's computed values, so you can see precisely where your recall diverges from your model
Making Rehearsal Count
- Do it late in prep - after the Review tab is clean and you've read Q&A Prep, rehearsal tells you what actually stuck
- Re-run after edits - if you changed your growth story yesterday, make sure the new numbers are the ones in your head
- Chase the misses - a wrong answer is a gift: it's the question you would have flubbed live
- Know the shapes, not just the numbers - "roughly $2.8M by Year 5, about 23% year-on-year" beats false precision
