Frequently asked questions

Common questions about models, outputs, and your account.

Models

  • Which business types can I model? Five: SaaS, Marketplace, Hardware, Services, and Ecommerce. Each supports both a Planning model and an Investment model.
  • How long does a model take? You can construct your first Planning model in minutes. Investment models go deeper (for SaaS, around 30 required questions across six steps), and your Planning answers carry over when you upgrade.
  • Do I need financial expertise? No. The questionnaire explains every step, and the app handles all calculations.
  • Can I describe my business instead of filling in a form? Yes. Choose "Describe your business", tell us what you sell in plain language, and Radley extracts starter assumptions for you to review.
  • Can I start from an existing document? Yes. Upload .xlsx, .xls, .csv, .pdf, or .pptx (up to 20MB) and Radley extracts assumptions.
  • Can I start from Xero? The new-model flow includes "Import from Xero". If it shows "(coming soon)", it isn't enabled for your account yet. Contact support@radley.tax if you'd like access.
  • How many models can I create? As many as you need.
  • Can I undo changes? Yes. Restore any previous version from the History tab.
  • Can I upgrade from Planning to Investment? Yes. Click "Build Investment Model". Your existing answers carry over.

Outputs

  • What can I download? Excel (.xlsx) for every model. Q&A Prep, Investor Memo, Rehearsal, and the Sanity Report are in-app features.
  • Why is my download button disabled? Accounting errors block the export until statements balance. Check the Review tab, fix the flagged issues, and the download unlocks.
  • Why don't my Excel edits sync back? The export is a snapshot. Make changes in Radley and re-download.

Account

  • Is there a free trial? No self-serve trial. Book a demo from the plan page or email support@radley.tax.
  • Can I pay monthly? Annual billing only at present.
  • Is my data secure? Authentication via Firebase, data in Firestore, payments via Stripe, and optional 2FA. Your models are visible only to you.
  • What browsers are supported? Current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, on desktop. The app is designed for desktop browsers.
